NoiseSmart is an innovative UK-based company specialising in personal exposure monitoring solutions for workplace noise. They provide cutting-edge wearable technology that tracks individual worker exposure in real-time, moving beyond traditional noise assessments that focus on places and tasks to prioritise people and their ears. With their Smart Alert system and comprehensive monitoring approach, NoiseSmart empowers businesses to make informed decisions about hearing protection and create safer working environments across industrial sectors.
The Project:
NoiseSmart approached Hijack Creative to design and produce impactful exhibition signage for their presence at a major health and safety trade show. The brief was to create a cohesive visual identity that would effectively communicate their revolutionary approach to noise monitoring, differentiate them from traditional assessment methods, and engage visitors with their personal exposure monitoring technology. The signage needed to work across multiple formats – from large-scale backdrop displays to promotional materials – while maintaining brand consistency and professional appeal.
Our Approach:
We began by working closely with the NoiseSmart team to understand their key messaging and target audience of health and safety professionals, quality inspectors, and industry decision-makers. Our design strategy centred on bold, confident messaging that positioned NoiseSmart as the smart solution to workplace hearing protection. We developed a striking visual language using their brand colours – deep blues and vibrant greens – combined with dynamic dot patterns that subtly referenced sound waves and data monitoring. The hero message “I know my hearing is protected” was crafted to speak directly from the worker’s perspective, emphasising the personal, human-centred approach of their technology. We incorporated real worker imagery to add authenticity and relatability, while clear calls-to-action like “Insight • Protect • Improve” communicated their value proposition at a glance.
Results:
The exhibition stand created a powerful presence that successfully attracted visitors and generated meaningful conversations about NoiseSmart’s innovative approach to workplace noise monitoring. The cohesive signage system effectively communicated the shift from traditional place-based assessments to person-centred monitoring, with the bold messaging and professional design reinforcing NoiseSmart’s position as industry innovators. Feedback from the team and show attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with the signage playing a key role in establishing credibility and driving interest in their Smart Alert technology and monitoring services.
