UKSA (United Kingdom Sailing Academy) is a renowned maritime charity based in Cowes, Isle of Wight. Since 1987, UKSA has empowered young people and adults through transformational water-based experiences, offering youth development programmes, school and group activities, and professional maritime qualifications leading to employment. As the world’s leading maritime training centre, UKSA welcomes over 8,000 students annually, with a focus on widening access and building essential life and work skills for all backgrounds
The Project:
UKSA approached us to design and build a new website that would reflect their mission, showcase their wide range of programmes, and improve the user experience for prospective students, parents, and partners. The goal was to create a modern, accessible platform that would effectively communicate UKSA’s impact, simplify course discovery, and support their charitable objectives through clear calls to action and engaging content
Our Approach:
We began by working closely with UKSA’s team to understand their diverse audiences and key objectives. Our design focused on clean navigation, vibrant imagery, and storytelling elements to bring UKSA’s transformational impact to life. We ensured the site was fully responsive, accessible, and easy to update, integrating course search tools, donation options, and clear signposting for key programmes. Throughout the build, we prioritised performance, security, and seamless integration with UKSA’s existing system
Results:
The new UKSA website delivers a fresh, engaging experience that truly reflects the charity’s values and ambitions. Visitors can now easily explore youth development opportunities, professional training courses, and ways to support UKSA’s mission. The intuitive navigation and improved content structure have led to increased enquiries and course sign-ups, while the modern design has strengthened UKSA’s brand presence online.
