BuggOff Branding
Approach:
BuggOff, an American insect repellent company, approached Hijack Creative to revitalise their brand and create a comprehensive brand guidelines deck. Their goal was to modernise their identity, appeal to a broader audience, and establish consistency across all touchpoints.
We began with an in-depth discovery phase, including market research and competitor analysis, to understand BuggOff’s positioning and audience. This informed the development of a refreshed brand identity that balanced professionalism with approachability. The new design aimed to capture BuggOff’s efficacy while reflecting its eco-conscious values.
The logo was redesigned to be clean and versatile, featuring a stylised insect icon, representing protection. We introduced a vibrant colour palette with earthy greens and energised yellows to evoke nature and safety. Typography was chosen for its clarity and modern appeal, ensuring legibility across packaging, digital, and print materials.
The brand guidelines deck provided a clear roadmap for implementing the new identity. It outlined logo usage, colour schemes, typography rules, and tone of voice, ensuring consistency across platforms and marketing materials. The deck also included examples of packaging design, social media templates, and promotional assets.
Results:
The rebrand transformed BuggOff’s market presence. Customer perception shifted positively, with surveys showing anincrease in brand recognition and trust. Retailers reported a rise in shelf appeal, leading to higher product visibility and sales.
